Individuals interested in furthering their career and becoming industry experts in specific HR verticals will require certification to be recognized amongst their peers, employers, and vendors. We recommend that individuals have at least two years of practical HR experience to enroll in the program as basic HR functionality and knowledge is a core requirement for this in-depth training.

Over the course of 12 months registered individuals must:

• Complete 60 hours of approved in classroom or online training with education dedicated towards the vertical they're enrolled in
• Check your HR.com profile at any time to keep track of the IHR credits you have earned
• Score 60% or above on their certification test
• Conduct 60 or more hours in a job-related function or volunteer internship where they are utilizing these skills

Only after all of these requirements are fulfilled will an individual be able to add the certification to their resume.

Did you know that each one-hour webcast is submitted to qualify for HR Certification Institute recertification credits? The archive of the webcast also qualifies recertification credits, for one (in some cases two) year(s) after the original broadcast. Yes, in order for executives to keep their certification current they must participate in 30 hours of approved online or classroom training each year.

Hours can be obtained from workshops and conferences put on with IHR as well as HR.com webcasts. In addition, IHR will work diligently with suppliers of content to add additional training such as user conferences, webcasts and alternative conferences to ensure their material is educational in nature and fulfills the requirements of certification credits.

Yes. Although many courses and credits can be obtained for free, there is a cost of $399 per person to take the final exam (with discounts available to premium HR.com members). This exam can only be taken once you have accumulated 60 hours of certification credits and attended 1 IHR certification conference in this domain. This is done virtually.

Yes. Once you have logged your first credit into our system, you have 18 months to write the exam.
Certification Only Includes:
